ASDAN CoPE
The ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) is a 2 year course. It is a wide-ranging qualification which enable students to develop and demonstrate a range of personal, key and employability skills, to broaden students experience and to manage their own learning in a variety of real-life contexts. It aims to teach students to understand, take responsibility for and learn from a range of selected activities. Evidence to meet the CoPE standards is generated by identifying and completing various “Challenges” and “Skills Units”. Through these students must complete enough to gain 12 curriculum (ASDAN) credits to achieve a Level 2 qualification.
Students need to;
- Plan, organise and carry out “Challenge” work and evidencing this in a portfolio (Y10).
- Develop and evidence the “Skills” represented by the CoPE assessment units (Y11).
The Challenge work produced is assessed initially using the school marking policy and the Skills Units are assessed and moderated both in school and by ASDAN.
